A cast iron tobacco case with griffons

Black patinated cast iron. Square case resting on four paw feet with a pyramidal lid and pinecone finial. All faces decorated with Neoclassical reliefs. The lid with a tin soldered repair. H 17, W 18.7, D 12.3 cm.
Prussian iron foundry, c. 1820, designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel.
