A rosewood tea caddy by Abraham Roentgen

Rosewood veneer on oak and softwood, brass and brass-plated iron mountings, later textile lining. Oblong box with a concave gable top. Veneered throughout with fine vertical-grained rosewood accentuated by wood and brass mouldings. The protruding base with four curved bracket feet. The interior fitted with three compartments, each with a brass tea caddy, the central one with a hinged lid and two further compartments inside, the two others with slip lids. With a secret compartment in the right of the base that can be opened via a hexagonal button in the inner right wall. The key missing. H with handle folded down 17 cm, W 22.5, D 14.3 cm.
