Maasland 13th century
A 13th century Maasland bronze Corpus Christi
Cast in the round, with remnants of presumably original gilding. Depiction of Christ crucified with four nails and slightly angled arms. Christ is shown crowned and wearing a voluminous perizonium with a large knot on one side.
The left forearm lost. Drilled holes in the arms and feet. Surface corrosion. Height 9.5 cm.
