A pair of carved limewood reliefs of Saints Catherine and Margaret, presumably Swabian, first half 16th century

The reverse flattened. With partially overpainted older polychromy. Corresponding pair of pierced high reliefs standing on foliate brackets. The faces, hair, and crowns of the saints are depicted similarly, and the poses and arrangement of the drapery are designed to form a balanced composition. Saint Catherine is depicted with her attributes, the sword and a fragment of the wheel, whilst Margaret holds the dragon on a leash at her side.
Only minor wear throughout, minor losses to the brackets and a small breakage Height of each 105 cm. Depth c. 3.5 cm.
