A rare Zittau silver beaker
Round scalloped base with repoussé shellwork and flowerheads amid fluting. The waisted cup with corresponding decor on a dotted ground, the rim engraved with scrollwork. The finial formed as a horseman. 22.5 cm, weight 315 g.
Marks presumably those of Johann Martin Schmutzler, circa 1730 - 40.
