A pair of rare Italian bronze firework mortars

Tapering bronze mortar with blackish brown patina. Each emblazoned on the display side with a figure of a kneeling saint (possibly Saint Silvester) beside cartouches with four letters and numbers. H 23 cm.
16th / 17th C.
