Depicting the head of Napoleon facing right in a medallion applique labelled "NAPOLEON EMP. ET ROI" and signed "DENONE DROZ MDCCCVI" and "DROZ FEC". The saucer with a medallion labelled "CONFEDERATION DU RHIN MDCCCVI". Blue crossed swords mark with star, dreher's marks. H of cup 5.9, D of saucer 13.5 cm.

The Rhenish Confederation, known in French as the Confédération du Rhin, was founded by Emperor Napoleon in 1806 and was made up of states that had left the Holy Roman Empire to enter into a military alliance with France. The Confederation included the Kingdom of Saxony under King Friedrich August I, and the founder Napoleon acted as its protector.
