An 18th century South German carved wooden crucifixion

The figures carved from boxwood and attached to the wooden cross beams and base.. This standing crucifix depicts Christ crucified with three nails on a cross applied with the INRI plaque and angel's heads. The base shows the veil of Veronica and mourning figures of angels holding the crown of thorns and dice to represent the instruments of the Passion.
Two of Christ's fingers, the wings of the seated angel and one side moulding lost. Mounted on plexiglass. Height 63 cm.
