Draft for the coloured title-illustration on “Das graphische Werk von Lovis Corinth”, by Karl Schwarz, published at the Fritz Gurlitt publishing house, Berlin 1922. Corinth worked on the basis of the lithography “Selbstbildnis als Ritter mit Hellebarde” which was created for his graphic series “Anna Boleyn”. For the title he collaged a detail of a smaller version on laid paper and reworked the version with watercolour and coloured chalks. A version of this draft which alternated slightly in terms of shadowing and colouring was finally adapted and used for the title illustration.
