A large ivory netsuke of a seated tiger. Ca. 1780
Seated with forlimbs placed close together and turning backwards with a slightly raised head suggesting listening, the long tail placed over the back in an ondulating line, the fur displaying typical stripes, oval spots and a fine and short hairline engraving. The underside shows the paws in different positions, the male sexual organs, unusual wide cordholes and a large and deep himotoshi.
