A carved red lacquer rectangular tray. 19th century

Carved with five scholars on a terrace with a vertical garden rock underneath two trees, the borders carved with plum blossoms, peony, chrysanthemum and camellia, reserved from a ground of scrolls, and camellia flowers in the corners. Black lacquer to the bottom. One corner restored, traces of usage to the feet, two hooks attached with thumbtacks.
