Attributed to Henry van de Velde or his circle
Solid maple with the original upholstery and pale grey leather covers. Restored original upholstery, the leather cracked and with a filled area in the seat, a crack in the leather of the back rest in the upper left, the painted areas with some minor wear. H 79, W 42.5, D 53 cm.
The influence of Henry van de Velde's earlier furniture is clearly visible in the design of the two front legs and the sweep of the frame. It is possible that this is one of his late designs from his last years in Brussels.
From an important European private collection.
