A Nuremberg single-handled mortar on lion's paw feet

Golden yellow cast bronze with polished natural patina. Near-cylindrical mortar with a flaring rim resting on three lion's paw supports issuing from one short and two longer ribs. With an angular, faceted handle. With a round repair (7 mm) in the lower section (presumably occurring close to production date, patinated). Base slightly concave due to usage. H 18.8, D 15.7 cm, with corresponding engraved pestle, weight with pestle c. 4.8 kg.
