A Mannerist table cabinet

Inlaid with various softwoods and fruitwoods on softwood corpus; wrought iron mountings. Oblong corpus with fall front writing suface, carrying handles on either side and pierced lock place and corner mountings. Decorated on five faces with inlaid frame and panelling motifs. The fall front above a large drawer concealing a further, smaller fall front on the left on the interior alongside ten drawers surrounding a central two-doored compartment revealing six secret compartments. All drawer fronts with inlaid decor depicting animals in forest landscapes, architecture and a large musical still life to the inner fall front. In good, restored condition. H 52.5, W 72.5, D 35.5 cm.
