A carved walnut chest

Rectangular walnut and conifer wood chest with a flat lid, carved on the front and sides with foliate ornament, the back and inside of the lid fitted with two engraved wrought iron bands. The lock and feet replaced; stained surface; traces of earlier insect damage. H 26.5, W 50, D 28 cm.
Attributed to Northern Italy, late 16th / early 17th C.
