An engraved ostritch egg with a whale hunting scene

Scrimshaw carved egg depicting a whale hunt by a rocky coastline (possibly Patagonia) above an acanthus frieze with male and lion's head mascarons. With a hole in the base for the (plastic) stand. Monogrammed J.A. above the acanthus frieze. H 14.1 cm.
