Probably Southern Netherlands around 1500

A carved walnut figure of Saint Veronica, presumably Southern Netherlands, around 1500

Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened. Minimal remains of former polychromy. A kneeling figure of the saint facing towards the right, holding her veil in both hands. Presumably originally part of a larger scene of Christ carrying the Cross.
Losses to the front left and right corner of the plinth. Minor wear throughout. Height 28 cm.
