An alabaster relief with the Adoration of the Shepherds, Mechelen, around 1600

Alabaster with original partial gilding.. A detailed depiction of the shepherds gathered adoringly around the Christ Child in the manger with the stable architecture forming a backdrop. The cartouche on the lower edge inscribed with the maker's mark "RT".
With hairline cracks and wear throughout. In a frame of a later period. 17.5 x 14 cm (with frame 26.5 x 22.5 cm).
