A Tibetan or Monolian bronze figure of Kubera. 17th/18th century

The protector (lokapala) of the north and god of wealth is seated in lilasana on a lotus throne, his left hand holds a pearl-spouting mongoose (nakula) that spews jewels into a vessel, his right holds a jambhara fruit. The cover plate of the closed throne base is decorated with engraved visvavajra (double vajra).
