A bronze coffer from the workshop of Severo da Ravenna

Oblong box with loose lid on dolphin supports. Richly decorated with repousse designs, the outer faces with putti, wreaths, trophies, centaurs, and medusa masks, the lid with a vacant heraldic shield. The soldered hinge of the box not connected to the lid. H 7.6, W 22, D 12.7 cm.
Padua, attributed to the workshop of Severo Calzetta (Severo da Ravenna), first half 16th C.
