An early Meissen porcelain sugar box with K.P.M.mark and Chinoiseries

Of oval section with original lid. Decorated with two Chinoiserie scenes in gilt strapwork surrounds with purple lustre ground. The lid with an identical scene. Blue crossed swords mark and K.P.M., 72. in gold (body and lid). Minor firing cracks. Localised wear to the gilding. H 6.7, W 12 cm.
Porcelain fired c. 1723/24, decorated in the workshop of Johann Gregorius Hoeroldt, c. 1725.
