Still Life with Fish, Prawns, Onions and Dishes

This still life is a copy after a work by the Antwerp painter Jacob van Es, which was formerly housed in the Dr. Rau'sche Kunststiftung and was auctioned in London in 2006 (Christie's, 8.12.2006, lot 114). The present work, which is registered in the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie (RKD), The Hague, under no. 6192 as a work of the second half of the 17th century, is also very similar to a still life in the Staatliches Museum Schwerin (inv. no. G 3846), which also shows a jug and a large number of prawns on the right-hand side of the picture.
