Vintage gelatin silver print. 15.4 x 10.8 cm. Photographer's blind stamp lower left and bordered in black India ink. Photographer's stamp on the verso. Mounted to original card, thereon signed and dated in pencil below the image on the mount. Photographer's label as well as original cellophane cover sheet affixed to the reverse of the mount.

The photograph shows the Cologne Town Missionary Jakob Harth with his wife Helene and their children Helene, Hans and Theophil. August Sander used the portrait of Jakob Harth, taken one year later, as well as the group portrait of the four Cologne Town Missionaries in his work "Menschen des 20. Jahrhunderts" in group IV "Die Stände", and there in folder 25 "Der Geistliche".
