A dramatic and monumental bronze figure of a sea eagle on a rock. Meiji period

The mighty eagle stands with wings outstreched on a rock surrounded by billowing waves, the head lowered and looking out for its pray, the legs with straddled claws set widely apart. The bird of brownish colour, the rock black, the feet and parts of the beak gilded, the beak proper and claws patinated black, the eyes silvered with black eye pupils. All together in four parts.
