A carved ivory depiction of Christ at the column, attributed to Wilhelm Krüger

Carved in the round, the back of the soldier with the flail flattened. These finely carved late Baroque figures are characterised by a great attention to detail and life-like appeal. The group consists of three separate figures and is mounted on a modern tiered plinth.
The raised hands of the soldiers reattached, with a vertical crack to the back of the seated figure. Wear with minor losses. Yellowed and soiled. Height 10-12 cm.
