The display side engraved with the coat-of-arms of King George III with the Order of the Garter and the motto "DIEU ET MON DROIT"; opposite it the monogram "G.R III" beneath the Imperial State Crown. Inscribed to the base "The property of George 3rd Lord Walsingham" and the weight "59=16". H 31.5 cm, weight 1,706 g.
London, marks of Gabriel Sleath and Francis Crump, 1753.

George de Grey, 3rd Baron Waldingham at Merton Hall in Norfolk (1776 - 1831) was a highly decorated officer in the British Army. The ewer was apparently part of a travelling set given to him as a gift in recognition of his service.
