A Meissen porcelain figure of harlequin dancing

From the commedia dell'arte series made for Duke Johann Adolf II of Saxony-Weißenfels. Harlequin is shown dancing on a base encrusted with coloured flowers, holding a slapstick under his arm and wearing a jacket with a playing card pattern, a floral coat and a sea green hat. Smoothed base, blue crossed swords mark to the back of the plinth. Minor chips to the foliage, the hat brim, the slapstick, the thumb restored, gilding retouched. H 14 cm.
Model by Johann Joachim Kaendler, presumably July 1744, and Peter Reinicke, produced soon after.
