A South German "hinterzappler" clock

Silver plated brass and red painted sheet iron, wrought iron, engraved brass dial, pierced iron hands, a faux pendulum in the upper section. Eight-day running with verge escapement, central spring for the movement and striking, hourly striking on a bell and repetition on one side (thread lost). H 31.2, W 27.5 cm.
Around 1775.
