A copper tea kettle with hunting motifs

Partially tin-plated copper, the handle presumably with the original wicker wrapping. Engraved with dogs chasing a deer and ducks. The folding handle attached via two bearded mascarons. With original lid with grape finial, stove and burner. H with handle folded up 35.5 cm.
Demidoff manufactory, second half 18th C.

The Demidoff manufactory was founded after the discovery of the large malachite and copper mines by Nikita Demidoff (1656 - 1725) north of Ekaterinburg in the middle of the 18th century. It also produced objects for civilian use such as tea services, which were designed to meet the most refined standards.
