Ingvar Bergström (1913-1996) was one of the greatest connoisseurs of European still life painting of his era. In this respect, his judgment from 1987 on the attribution of this work has weight and speaks for the quality of this picture. However, the connoisseurs of this specialist field who followed him did not agree with his conclusion.
