A pair of Imado ware handwarmers. Tokyo. Around 1900

Of tapering form with genji-mon in openwork, on a convex base, painted with shikishi depicting a Shintō priest with bells respectively Okame and the signature Zeshin, with double gourds and their measurements and poems (?). Each with a wooden box, the lid inscribed: Imado-yaki teaburi (Imado ware hand warmer), on the reverse dated Meiji yonjūsannen (1910) shigatsu motomu and signature of previous owner Shin... ...sō. Cushion inside.
