A large ivory netsuke of a rat on a zabuton. Around 1900

Placing its paws on the tail which isslung around its body, with a dried chestnut in front, the zabuton neatly woven of straw. Eye pupil of black horn. Signed Isseisai Naomitsu in a long cartouche reserved from the fur.
Height 2.4 cm

According to Ueda Murata Isseisai Naomitsu was born in Osaka in 1867, studied withi Ichiyūsai Naoharu in Tokyo and died 1931.
