A Pforzheim parcel gilt silver beaker representing the month of September

Tapering beaker with flaring rim on a thick basal ring. Finely engraved with garlands of fruit and amoretti at play between three oval surrounds with landscapes depicting rural tasks of September: An apple harvest, peasants harrowing the fields and anglers in a river. Engraved above with '9', 'SEPTEMBER', the astrological symbol of Libra, a later Baptismal inscription "BAPTIZ. D. 29 AUG.1811 M. I. HOFFMANN" and inventory no. 238'. H 9,8 cm, weight 153 g.
Maker's mark "A" in a shield, attributed to Christoph Aberlein, around 1600 - 1620.

The church records of Pforzheim record the goldsmith Christoph Aberlein baptising his son Hans Christoph on 7th January 1610.
