A silver gilt Spanish Renaissance chalice

Round scalloped base with repoussé tendrils and flowerheads supporting a shaft made up of hexagonal sections and a central node with corresponding decor. The tapering cup within a basket with repoussé acanthus designs, engraved "+CALICEM SALUTAREA CIPIAME +" below the rim. H 23.5 cm, weight 650 g.
