A male Meissen porcelain nodding pagode

Metal mountings with lead weight. Fired in four parts and mounted. With moving head, tongue (sticks slightly) and hands. Blue crossed swords mark, incised model no. No: 156, 89 in red, pressnummer 78 on the underside and the lower edge of the head. The left knee and a breakage to the neck restored. H 18.5 cm.
Modelled by Johann Joachim Kaendler, 1740/45, produced late 19th C.
