A Louis XVI 14k bi-colour gold etui à cire.

Moulded, flat tubular form of oval section, the domed lid with a vacant field for a seal. Engraved on all sides with laurel friezes and octagonal reserves with floral festoons in bi-coloured gold on a sable background. Not hallmarked. Upper section of the case with open seam and small dents. Dimensions 12.0 x 2.5 x 1.3 cm. Weight 39.23 g.
