A small gold lacquer cabinet (kodansu). Meiji period, late 19th century

Of rectangular shape, with three drawers inside, displaying in gold and silver makie, brown and a little red lacquer and kirikane different views of Nikkō, on the door the Yōmei-mon, on the lid anchored boats, torii and bell tower, on the sides, the Red Bridge, a pagoda and buildings amidst tall coniferous and deciduous trees, further landscape scenes inside. Chiselled fittings and handle of silver.
