Vintage gelatin silver print. 30 x 21,9 cm. Signed in black ballpoint pen at lower right. Flush-mounted on original cardboard 33 x 24 cm, there signed by Luisa Casati in black ink. Photographer's stamp and annotated in French on the reverse. - The lower edges creased. The cardboard with traces of usage. Mounted under a mat.

The italian Marchesa Casati was one of the most dazzling and notorious celebrities of the Parisian society of the 1930s. The photograph was taken in July 1935 on the occasion of a masked ball organized by Count Etienne de Beaumont, it shows the Marchesa masqueraded as Empress Elizabeth of Austria together with her two horses Flick and Flock.
