A Meissen porcelain porringer with Hoeroldt chinoiseries

A small ecuelle designed to be given to a mother after childbirth. Original lid with squirrel finial. Decorated throughout with “kauffahrtei” scenes in quatrefoil reserves and chinoiserie scenes on brackets. With finely painted foliage and strapwork in gold, iron red, and purple. Blue crossed swords mark with pronounced pommels. Chips to the basal ring, the finial restored, gilding partially redone. H 11.6, D 16.2 cm.
Around 1730, decor attributed to the workshop of Johann Gregorius Hoeroldt.
