Charles (Karel) war der älteste von fünf Brüdern der Antwerpener Malerfamilie Beschey, zu denen auch Balthasar Beschey zählte, der als einflussreicher Kunsthändler und Maler die Karriere seiner Brüder beförderte.
Die Landschaften von Charles Beschey lehnen sich eng an die Gemälde von Jan Brueghel d. Ä. an. Dabei bevorzugte Beschey weite, dörflich geprägte Landschaften, bei denen insbesondere die reiche Staffage mit Bauern und Reisenden an das Vorbild des 17. Jahrhunderts erinnert.
