Color crayon drawing and pencil on fine ribbed laid paper 47.7 x 31.1 cm, framed under glass. Signed Lovis Corinth in pencil lower right and inscribed lower left by an unknown hand apparently for purpose of reproduction: "als Zinko/Verkleinern auf/ Höhe 10 cm/ Breite entsprechend" [as zinc/minimize to/ height 10 cm/ width accordingly]. - Slightly browned with traces of crinkling.

We would like to thank Thomas Deecke, Berlin, for the information that this is an early drawing by Corinth signed later. The drawing is not reproduced in the early publications known to him. There is a certain motivic relation to the costume of the oil painting "Porträt Anton", dated 1880 (Berend-Corinth 4).
