Oil on linen-structured paper 52.6 x 35.1 cm, mounted on cardboard 53.2 x 35.1 cm, framed. At lower left monogrammed A.vJ., at right dated 1916 in black. On back side of cardboard inscribed N.3/1916 in black ink, probably by the artist, and titled above "Grosse Variationen/ No3, 1916 St. Prex" in blue ink by the son, Andreas Jawlensky, with the addition "Nach dem Frühlingsregen" [in wavy underline]. - On the back side with printed gallery labels of Leonard Hutton Galleries, New York and Marlborough Fine Art, London, at upper left a round French customs stamp. - The upper left edge of cardboard slightly compressed.
