Oil on brightly primed wood 54.1 x 45.4 cm. Signed C. Mense in black lower left. - On back side with a printed inventory label from the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum "Gemälde-Inventar 1925" and the handwritten entry nr. "ML/D90.477". - On back side inscribed c.mense 1920 with yellowish color sideways at right and beneath (almost blotted out) titled and crossed out jüd. Märtyrer [jewish martyr]. - With scattered old retouchings; with rubbing and minor losses of color along the edges.
