According to latest confirmation by Fanny Guillon-Laffaille, Paris, the signature is the signature stamp mentioned in the catalogue raisonné (see Maurice Laffaille, Raoul Dufy, catalogue raisonné, vol. 3, p. 118 - the stamp here mentioned as « griffe de l'atelier »); Also see the remarks in Lugt 702 f on the familiar studio stamp for paintings by Raoul Dufy (Frits Lugt, Les Marques de Collections de dessins & estampes, supplément, La Haye 1956, R. Dufy, p. 104). The signature stamp is described in Lugt with a length of 50 mm, which applies to the offered painting. The artist's widow provided the works in the studio with this stamp.
