A Meissen porcelain snowball flower vase with birds

Baluster form vase with flared foot. Fired in two parts and screw-mounted, with original lid. Incrusted throughout with snowball flowers and branches populated by a cockatoo and a parrot at the shoulders, a little canary in its nest at the base, and a goldfinch on the lid. Blue crossed swords mark. With older, partially peeling and discoloured restorations. H 50.3 cm.
2nd half 19th C., after a model by Johann Joachim Kaendler, ca. 1760.
