Werner Gräff chooses Wegerich by Renger-Platzsch as a successful example for the concerns of the 'new photographer' to enhance the expression of the quality of objects: ”Here, the material speaks for itself”. (cf. Werner Gräff, Es kommt der Neue Fotograf!, Berlin 1929, pp. 92).
