A Swiss enamelled gold snuff box

Of rectangular form with chamferred edges. The lid inset with an enamel plaque with a very fine depiction of a romantic river landscape with a figure scene. The fields of the body and the base with royal blue enamel over guilloché, surrounded by forget-me-not blue enamel strips and chased borders, and with flowers in vases in champlevé enamel. The lid monogrammed "IF". Stamped: Maker's mark MZ "GRC" under crown, French gold import marks (Tardy 163). Minimal, very professional enamel restoration to the base. 1.5 x 9.9 x 5.3 cm. Weight 112.3 g.
