A lacquer cabinet (sage dansu). 17th/18th century

Decorated to all sides with camellia bushes by an enbankment with small rocks, on the lid a large pine tree, in gold hiramaki-e, kirikane, hirame and harigaki on a silvery nashiji ground. Inside six drawers, the fronts displaying nature scenes with poems in silver. Copper fittings, lock and key. Traces of use.
