A Berlin KPM porcelain allegory of fame

A monumental depiction of a female allegory with a trumpet seated on a column. Blue sceptre, incised mark C.M. to the inside of the base. The right arm reattached. H 32.3 cm.
Circa 1770 - 80, modelled by Friedrich Elias Meyer, 1768.

Friedrich Elias Meyer designed the allegorical images of fame for a large chandelier commissioned by Frederick II in 1768 for the Neue Palais in Potsdam. The commission is recorded in an invoice from 17.12.1768. The individual figures on column bases must have been modelled shortly after.
