From the late 1940s onwards, Rolf Jährling developed an intense exhibition activity in his Galerie Parnass in Wuppertal, which enabled French artists of the post-war avant-garde in particular to exhibit their current work in Germany. In 1958, works by James Guitet were shown as part of the group exhibition "Vier Maler aus Paris". His paintings were also exhibited by Van de Loo in Munich at that time. In Paris the artist was represented by Galerie Arnaud.
